Who runs QuantForum?
A small independent team of algo-trading enthusiasts. The site is not owned by a broker, platform, or tool vendor, and it does not sell signals or courses. See the about page for the full disclosure.
Is anything here financial advice?
No. Everything on the site is discussion of systems, methods, and measurements. Nothing is a recommendation to buy, sell, or risk money. Trading leveraged products involves substantial risk of loss.
Are the early threads from real users?
Some early threads are editorial seed content written by the team to bootstrap discussion — this is disclosed openly on the about page, marked in the database, and never presented as real-user testimonials or reviews. AI assistance may be used in drafting editorial answers, with human review before publication.
Can I promote my own tool or service?
Only with clear disclosure in the post itself, and only where it genuinely answers the question being asked. Undisclosed promotion, referral spam, and astroturfing are removed and can lead to a ban.
Why do some posts mention specific tools?
Members discuss whatever tools they actually use — MT4/MT5, cTrader, TradingView, QuantConnect, StrategyQuant, FXDreema, and others. Mentions must be balanced: genuine pros and cons, no hype, and disclosure of any affiliation. Criticism of any tool stays up.
How do I start a thread or reply?
Create a free account, then use the New thread button. Threads need a category, a specific title (8+ characters), and enough context for others to answer. Markdown-lite formatting is supported in posts.
How is the site moderated?
Moderation targets spam, astroturfing, harassment, and undisclosed promotion. Criticism and negative experiences — about any tool or broker — are welcome and stay up, as long as they follow the guidelines.
