Do I need an expensive low-latency VPS next to my broker's server if my EA trades H1/H4? Or is any stable VPS fine?
Trying to figure out what actually matters at this timeframe: latency, uptime, location, or just not running it on my laptop anymore.
For H1 and slower, latency is nearly irrelevant — stability is everything. A boring $10 VPS with 99.9% uptime beats a "gaming" low-latency one that reboots weekly.
What actually matters: auto-restarting MT5 after a crash, and Windows updates not murdering your terminal at 3am. Solve those two and you're done.
Agree completely. 50ms vs 5ms changes nothing when your average trade lasts 3 days. Spend the savings on better data or a second demo account for forward tests — both pay better than shaved milliseconds.
